    Default baja hot rod body

    hi,
just wanted to give you a sneak peek of the new hot rod body im making for baja's.
these pics are of the prototype, the production model will have a slope on the bonnet, less rake on the windscreen and more rounded edges on the rear end, and a step down in the roof so it can be cut out for air flow and easy start and stopping.
they will be available in about 4 weeks,
tell me what you think, all comments welcomed, good or bad, like or dont ?

i will keep you posted as to when it will be released

CHEERS for the feedback, keep it coming.
they should be available in about 4 weeks
they will be made for 3mm PET-G which is just like lexan, same flex, same strength but easier to form.
the pics you see are MK1 , which the mold broke last week, so we are making a new mold, which is a lot stronger, same shape, more rounder on the rear end, a bit of slope down to the front on the bonnet, and better grill area, with a bit more angle, and a step down section in the roof to make for easy cutting of roof opening for easy start and stopping and air flow.
a bit of testing will need to be done as i dont want to sell crap.
i have done fuel testing on the PET, soaked a piece for 15 min, then bent it back and forth 20+ times with NO snaping.
cost will be around the $200, but like i say these will be 3mm, as im sick of my 5t bodies only lasting a few roll overs

if all works well there will be more new shapes to come.
maybe a paris/dakar vw or pajero, and thinking about plymoth prowler
i like to open wheel hot rod look, something different...

will keep everyone informed as to the progress

Default update - Phat Rod body

well its still on it way, have made a few changes to the bonnet and grill, (new grill looks heaps better)
and i have now been able to get them made from 3mm lexan, and a bit cheaper,
so the price should come down under $200.
    check out the pic @

they should be in production in a few weeks, just tweaking the bottom of the window line and the trim lines.

    keep you all informed

ive been testing it for bashing too, it keeps a lot of mud out, and seem to be taking the abuse. and i just like to have my baja looking different.
